Stephanie serves the members of MUCA by ensuring the association’s strategic direction, finances and operations adhere to its mission of promoting the industry through safety training, continuing education, scholarships, and advancing legislative priorities. Prior to MUCA, Stephanie was with the Midwest ENERGY Association for 17 years in a variety of positions; the last as Vice President of Gas Services since 2006. She is the pioneer/founder (2007) of Energetic Women, a national organization for women in natural gas and electric utilities, whose mission is to increase the pool of promotable women in energy operations and engineering. She is passionate about the utility industry and about serving women in non-traditional roles in male-dominated industries. Stephanie is recognized as an expert resource on leadership. Stephanie served on the Board of Directors for the Midwest Society of Association Executives (2008-11), as the St. Paul Ladies of Harley Director (2005-06) and as the National Night Out Block Leader in the Northrup Neighborhood in South Minneapolis from 2013-2015. On behalf of MUCA, she currently serves on the MnDOT DBE/Workforce Leadership Committee, as well as MnDOT’s subcommittee on Workforce Development, the Minnesota Common Ground Alliance Leadership team, and the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Transportation Policy Committee.
Ashley’s work at Ewald Consulting includes leading and carrying out the event planning process for various local, national, and international organizations. She takes pride in delivering outstanding programs for her clients. In addition to overseeing and managing event logistics for a number of clients, Ashley is the lead trainer of Ewald’s event flex staff, individuals who are hired and trained to assist in the seamless execution of onsite management for some of the more than 300 meetings that Ewald Consulting’s clients plan during each year. Ashley joined Ewald Consulting in 2006 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a B.S. in broadcast journalism with a minor in international studies.
Rachel joined Ewald in 2015. She brings five years of experience in event management, professional development, and government relations. She previously worked as the Events and Education Manager for NAIFA Minnesota, an association that Ewald now manages.
Amanda received her first paycheck from Ewald Consulting at the age of 10 for stuffing envelopes. She graduated from envelopes to a variety of internships during high school and while attending St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. She graduated from St. Olaf with a B.A. degree in Economics and a concentration in Finance and Management. Amanda became the first third-generation Ewald to work full-time at the company when she was hired in 2007 as Operations Manager. She currently serves as the Vice President of Finance and Client Accounting.
Barb began working at Ewald Consulting in 2011 in the Events Department and now works in the Member Services Department. Barb has her B.A. in Education; prior to joining Ewald Consulting, she was an elementary school teacher.
Laurie joined Ewald Consulting in 1990 after working in a variety of association management positions. Her position as Communication Director involves editing and proofing client publications; providing strategy for clients’ publications and communication work, and providing strategy for clients’ social media efforts. She is an active member of the Midwest Society of Association Executives. Laurie earned a B.A. in broadcast journalism from the University of Minnesota. She serves as an Adult Interpretive Volunteer at the Minnesota Zoological Garden and has served as a member of the Minnesota 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees (Board chair, 2005-07). Laurie earned her CAE designation in 1995.
Jillian joined the Ewald Consulting team in 2015 after graduating from the Art Institute of Minnesota with associate degrees in web and graphic design. She is currently involved in the mobile web development process with the design team. She also studied design and business at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida.
Troy joined Ewald Consulting in March 2015 as government relations consultant. Previously, he worked for Public Affairs Company, where in addition to other accounts, he was primarily a state coordinator for Hunting Works For America program promoting the economic benefits of hunting and recreational shooting in Arizona, Utah, Oregon and Colorado. Troy also has 20 years of staff experience at the Minnesota House of Representatives. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Social Science
Jason joined Ewald Consulting in January 2016 as a Membership Specialist. Jason has over 9 years of non‐profit experience in membership recruitment and retention, communication, marketing, vender relations, team management, strategic planning and campaign design. Prior to working at Ewald, Jason worked for Minnesota Home Care Association, the Wisconsin Association for Justice and the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association.
